EA Games has announced they will push back the release of the HBP video game so it can come out the same time as the HBP film next year

-REDWOOD CITY, Calif – September 8, 2008 – Electronic Arts Inc (NASDAQ:ERTS) and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today confirmed that the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince™ video game will be released globally Summer 2009, alongside the Warner Bros. Pictures’ film based on J.K. Rowling’s sixth Harry Potter book.

Thanks to Rachezee at the Leaky Cauldron we now have a detailed report of the Chicargo testscreening held September 6th.


Today I got to see the test screening of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It took place in Chicago at the AMC River East. It was a secret screening, no one in the audience was supposed to know before hand what they were seeing. I was one of only a small handful who already knew what we would be seeing, but I was sworn to secrecy. It was truly the hardest secret I ever had to keep.

I think Bonnie (Wright, who plays Ginny) was maybe a bit nervous, and I probably was, too. It is very much the case that it's nowhere near as exciting to film those scenes as people would imagine them to be. I hate to disillusion everyone.

Rupert on the top 5 Lavender auditions
(Laughs) Yeah, I went to some of the final stages of the auditions. It was really cool to be involved in that side of it, not that I really had any say. There were some good girls, but we didn't do the kiss. We didn't even talk about the kiss until the day we actually did it. But Jessie (Cave), who got the part of Lavender, is really cool.

I think it's going to be quite awkward, but I was speaking to Dan and Bonnie, and apparently, after a couple of takes it gets boring!
